We are recruiting a Team Leader to lead and manage a new team of Support workers, to support two young gentleman who are ready to start their exciting journey to move from college life to their forever home in the Coedpoeth, Wrexham area. The Team Leader will guide the support team in using a low arousal approach. You must be enthusiastic and willing to learn who the gentlemen are as individuals to meet their needs. You must be reliable, consistent and predictable to lead colleagues supporting with multi-sensory impairments, complex behaviours of concern and health related difficulties in their own home and the community.

They each have unique interests, likes and dislikes. Your role is to provide person-centred support to enhance quality of life. Day to day, you will use active support to encourage completion of everyday chores, going to activities, meeting friends and family, visiting health professionals, assisting with personal care while maintaining a calm and relaxing sensory environment. They each have special interest and have a predictable structure of activities which ensures they can lead a meaningful life accessing the community whilst keeping unpredictable and stressful situations to a minimum to reduce anxiety. You will provide support to learn new skills, develop use of communication aids and achieve long term goals.

You will use practice leadership and effective support and supervision to get the most out of your team and ensure high standards are maintained.

You will have the opportunity to meet potential future colleagues that, if successful, you will attend induction training together. We will guide you through several work-based activities to enable you to get a full understanding of what the Support worker role entails. Therefore, following selection all candidates will be invited to attend an Assessment Day. Our Assessment Day will take place in Ewloe from 10:00 – 15:00.
